The Tri-Cities
HS Performing Arts Wing was evaluated and determined to be
undersized in program area, and net building area. The as-built
(existing) conditions at Tri-Cities were compared with the North
Springs High School Performing Arts program and the 2005
Educational Specifications. Several options/alternatives for
expansions and/or additions were developed that would
accommodate program increases/improvements as needed. After
evaluation it was decided that a free standing building was the
preferred option, best suited for this site.
Performing Arts Building: (18,880
gross sq. ft.)
This new building addition will house the
Band, Choral, Orchestral areas, and 2 Dance Studios with
associated spaces.
Interior Renovations:
(5,723 net sq. ft.)
Portions of the existing Tri-Cities HS
music and drama areas will be renovated per the attached plan.
The proposed renovated area will include 2 Offices, Storage, a
Drama Classroom, Practice Rooms, and a Black Box Theater. The
conceptual planning work has been completed and is ready for
approval so the project can proceed into the design phase.
Infrastructure & Local School Needs:
The SPLOST III budgeted Infrastructure and
Local School Needs work will be completed at the same time,
along with the Performing Arts Building and Interior Renovation
work.
The projected budget for this project
is as follows:
Tri-Cities High School Performing Arts
Building (New 18,880 SF + Renovated 5,723 SF) and the
Infrastructure and Local School Needs.
TriCities Reroofing of auditorium with
a scheduled completion date of December 2008. |
