Alpharetta High School is located at 3595 Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta, Georgia. Alpharetta is a north suburb of Atlanta, about 25 miles from the city center. Alpharetta High School opened in Fall of 2004 as part of the Fulton County School System. The Alpharetta High School Band has quickly become an integral part of the fine arts community and the school-spirit of Alpharetta High School. The Percussion Program has already had several District and County Honor Band participants, a GHP participant, and Solo and Ensemble Superior Ratings winners. The Alpharetta High School Percussion Studio consists of students involved in Symphonic Band 1, Symphonic Band 2, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Band, AHS Percussion Ensemble and the AHS Percussion Orchestra. Students participate in at least 2 Percussion Ensemble concerts as well as Concert Band concerts in October, February, March, and May. Our focus is a comprehensive approach to percussion. Students even performed solo literature at the latest spring concert! The Percussion Orchestra presented a clinic to band directors at the 2008 GMEA Convention in Savannah and was invited to perform Fulton County Schools Administration at their meetings last September! The Percussion Section of our full orchestra has performed for the American String Teachers Association National Convention including a performance of Gillingham's Concertino for Four Percussion and Orchestra In this year's Fulton County Honor Band and Orchestra, 7 out of the 10 percussionists were AHS students!!
Marching Band Awards The Marching Percussion has received Superior ratings in all festivals attended 2005 West Florida Classic 1st in Class AA 2006 White Columns Invitational 1st in Class AA 2006 West Florida Classic 2nd in Class AAA 3rd in Show (17 bands)
