We discussed the
role of Local School Councils and it was noted that the Connected Academy LSAC
is our governing board according to our charter. |

David Myers agreed
to draft our bylaws. We discussed having a council with at least two parents,
two parents who are business persons, two teachers, the principal, and two
non-voting students. |

We need to recruit
at least two more parents to serve on LSAC and it was suggested that we insure
a parent representing south county students. |
|
The group will
elect a parent to lead the LSAC once we have the additional members.
|

Training is
available for LSAC members – registration forms were available at the meeting.
|
|
We discussed
what’s working at Connected Academy including first day activities and strong
teachers. |
|
Recruitment for
next year was discussed. How do we register 300 students who believe in the
vision by February/March? Discussed grade levels that are appropriate for
Connected Academy. |

A request was made
for a copy of the research behind the creation of the school charter.
|
|
We will meet
monthly (at least to get started) on the 2nd Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.
