Susan taught high school students math and science at Kanton Secondary
School in Ghana, West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer. This experience
profoundly impacted her passion for experiential learning. Being immersed in
a situation and solving problems in the community is a powerful form of
education. Returning home to Fulton County Schools, where she graduated, she
taught science and was one of the first Georgia teachers selected to design
and teach online classes with Virtual High School. |

A high school administrator at Milton, Roswell, and Centennial High Schools,
Susan gained expertise in strategic planning, supervision and evaluation,
business partnerships, discipline, and school leadership. Her wide-ranging
background (assistant principal, high school and university teacher, magazine
manager, Peace Corps volunteer) gives her a variety of beneficial skills not
usually found in a school administrator. She is a master at getting diverse
individuals to respect each other's perspectives and work together.
