As you may know, Savannah State University offers the only bachelor’s program in Homeland Security and Emergency Management in Georgia. A bachelor’s degree in emergency management and homeland security will prepare students for a wide array of positions in areas from planning, to public policy, hazardous materials response, hazards research and analysis, security plans and procedures, and disaster public education and information. All of these activities are focused on helping our communities, businesses, and government be more resilient - improving outcomes when emergencies or disasters occur.

I hope you will encourage students who might be interested in this important and growing career field to consider the SSU HSEM program. Please note there is a campus visitation day scheduled for April 19; we are of course happy to welcome visiting prospective students at other times.
