BANNEKER ALUMNI
Brevard (Bard) Williams Class of 1976
______________________________________________________
I
graduated from Banneker in 1976 when it was known as MD Collins
HS. I went on to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the
University of Georgia, Master’s Degree in Education from
Georgia State, then a
Doctorate in Education from UGA. After more than 10 years as a
public school teacher and district technology coordinator in
Gwinnett County, I moved on to work for Apple Computer’s
Education Division. In 2001, I launched Techthree, Inc. (www.techthree.com),
a successful marketing and consulting business in California’s
Silicon Valley. I’m also a keynote speaker and award-winning
published author of 14 books (mostly about education and
educational technology) and more than 300 articles.
My road to success started with a great high school experience.
The teachers inspired me and I got a superb education. I was
involved in student government, theater and several after-school
clubs. Collins (Banneker) gave me the tools and ambition to
succeed, teacher-mentors who were my heroes, and a wonderful
network of friends -- for those things I am eternally grateful.

I
graduated from B. Banneker in 1983 when it was called Feldwood
High School. I want you current students and faculty to know
how incredibly lucky you are to attend such a nice, well
equipped school. When I was there during
it’s first five years of existence we where lucky to have
books and chalk. We couldn’t have dreamed of the superior
facilities you now enjoy but we did have the heart and spirit of
learning that goes on in your halls everyday. After graduating
I served in the US Navy Submarine Fleet, graduated from Georgia
State University with a degree in Physics and have been an Air
Traffic Controller in Atlanta for the last 20 years. I carry
with me the memories of a good school with good people. Keep it
up please and make us alumni proud!! Go Trojans!!

Rev Jacson L. Moody Jr.
Class of 1989 ______________________________________________________
I am
the Rev Jacson L. Moody Jr. I am a 1989 graduate
of B. E. Banneker High School. I am also an
Alumnus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro,
Georgia. I have enjoyed great success in several
fields since my departure from Banneker. I served
as regional sales manager with the Kirby Co. I
have been a highly sought after motivational speaker
known to awaken the sleeping giant inside of all
listening. In 1996, I answered the calling into
the ministry. I currently serve as the Sr. Pastor
of the Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Baxley,
Georgia. I have developed a bit of a reputation
for bringing strong leadership and growth with me
wherever I go. All the leadership skills that I
have were learned in the confines of Banneker High
School. I was extremely active in a lot of
different areas both academically and athletically
during my time at Banneker. One must understand
that Banneker was a very different place in the late
nineteen eighties. We did not have very much at all but
we did the best that we could with what we had. I
thank God that we had to endure the hardships that we
faced at Banneker because it made us stronger as people.
I will be attending Emory University this fall where I
plan to begin my quest to receive my doctorate.
