As a result
of a generous donation from the Atlanta Development Authority,
Ms. B. Johnson’s 9th grade reading class received
copies of the Bluford series, books of fiction that are of high
interests to teenagers.
Mrs. Van
Gelder and Mrs. Williams visited Banneker on January 7, 2008 to
personally deliver the novels along with subscriptions to Teen
Vogue, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, and GAMEPRO. A
upcoming field trip is planned for a visit to the company’s
headquarters.
Ms. Johnson
and her students wrote letters to the Atlanta Development
authority thanking them for thinking of the students at Banneker.
