Greg
Blue Started His Football Career wearing the Trojan Red &
Silver!
Greg Blue was and is
still known at Banneker and in the High school racks in Georgia
as the all time hardest hitter ever to perform on the field.
We want Greg Blue to know that we are very proud of him and
still remember what he brought to Banneker while he was here.
Greg went on to play
for the University Of Georgia and there became known as one of
the all time greatest and hardest hitters in College Football.
Greg received numerous honors, awards, and set school records
during his career at Georgia. See more about Mr. Blues
Georgia career at this link:

Mr. Blue begins his
second year in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings. Greg
did a great job with the playing time he received his rookie
year. Greg (a safety) in one of a mighty veteran safety
squad at Minnesota. But we at Banneker know Greg and know
he is up to the task. Already in the first preseason game
Greg has gotten some good playing time and made several tackles.
THE BANNEKER FAMILY WANTS MR. BLUE TO KNOW THAT WE ARE ALL
BEHIND HIM AND WISH HIM ALL THE VERY BEST THIS HIS SECOND
SEASON! Falcons, If the opportunity ever
arrives we want Blue.
Here are some things
that reporters and coaches are already saying about Greg Blue in
the NFL.
A few notes from
today’s Vikes/Chiefs scrimmage: Aug 3 2007
*In case you forgot,
Greg Blue can HIT. Herm Edwards and Chilly tried to limit the
contact in the scrimmage, but that didn’t stop Blue from popping
a Chiefs player by the sideline.
Yea, that Blue hit was
nice.
Second-year man Greg Blue has four veterans with more experience
ahead of him, but he relishes the competition.
MANKATO - Greg Blue knew the training-camp competition for the
Vikings' safety jobs would be spirited when he learned last
April that the team had decided to up the ante.
A
position group that included veterans Darren Sharper, Dwight
Smith and Tank Williams added another when Mike Doss signed a
one-year, $1 million contract. Blue's reaction?
"That's the NFL right there," he said. "There is always
competition. I wasn't mad about it. I just said, 'It's going to
be crazy during training camp.' "
Greg Blue is a
big time hitter. Hopefully he's learning the defense and will
get some playing time next year.
