THANK YOU!

The Campbell Cougar Media Center applied for and received a $1000 grant from The Wal-Mart Foundation.  It was awarded by Phyllis Ivory at the Union City Wal-Mart.  She is the Community Involvement Coordinator for that store.

We are going to use the grant for our Accelerated Reader program for next year.  We will purchase awards and prizes for the students who reach their Accelerated Reader goals each month.  Our mission is to motivate our Campbell Cougars to become great readers and have fun doing it!

The next time you go to our local Wal-Mart store, be sure to say “thank you” and let them know how much we appreciate their support of our children and reading at Campbell Elementary!

Clinic Tidbit
CONJUNCTIVITIS, commonly known as “pinkeye” is an infection and inflammation of the lining of the eyelid and the whites of the eyes.  The eye(s) will appear bright pink or red and be accompanied by a watery or thick yellow green drainage.  Pinkeye is extremely contagious.  A child should be kept from school 24 to 48 hrs. and treated with  antibiotic drops or ointment as directed by a physician depending on the type of pinkeye that they have.  If a student is suspected to have pinkeye while at Campbell, parents/guardians will be contacted to pick the student up.  The student will be readmitted with written permission from their doctor.  For more info on pinkeye or other ailments, stop by the Campbell Clinic.
