“Pennies for Patients”

The Student Council members elected to conduct their first service project called “Pennies for Patients.”  This is a project to support students suffering with Leukemia or Lymphoma.  A class representative will collect coins each morning from their classroom starting November 2nd through November 20th.  In return for bringing their extra coins in, students will be given a sticker titled “I made a difference today!”

Picture Make-Up Day

When: Monday, November 23rd

If your child was absent on Picture Day, he/she may take a make-up picture on November 23rd.  If you ordered pictures and were not pleased with the pictures, your child may take a picture as well.  Please make sure your child brings back the original packet on the day of pictures.

Parents we want to thank you for your support of the Macy’s 2009 Book A Brighter Future campaign.   RIF is thrilled to report that Campbell Elementary earned $5,524 in this year’s campaign.  Congratulations on your success as a first-year SHARE participant!

Campbell’s RIF program will be able to use these funds to cover any SHARE expenses incurred or to enhance our organization’s literacy services.  This includes, but is not limited to:

«     Purchasing additional books to provide more books per child or to serve more children;

«     Purchasing higher-quality or higher-interest books;

«     Purchasing bilingual or multicultural books, or books for children with special needs; and

«     Defraying the cost of motivational activities, including supplies, decorations, treats or snacks, and fees for costume characters, professional storytellers, authors, or illustrators.

If you are in any Macy’s store this holiday season, please tell the sales clerks thank you for their support of RIF.
