Sylvia Anderson - AndersonS3@fulton.k12.ga.us
It is wonderful to be teaching at Cogburn Woods again this year. I have very much enjoyed settling into life in Alpharetta after living in cities across the country. I was born in Nashville, Tennessee where I completed my B.S. degree at Middle Tennessee State University. I then moved to Memphis where I finished my M.B.A. degree at the University of Memphis. Since that time my family and I have lived in Cleveland, Ohio, the San Francisco area, and in Ag oura Hills, California just outside of Los Angeles. While in Southern California, I completed post-graduate work at the University of California Los Angeles and, more recently, have studied at the Masters level at Georgia State University. I am married and have one amazing daughter in college at UGA.
Ronnie Barnett - PreK Speech - BarnettR@fultonschools.org
I am originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. and that is where I attended school for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I visit there once or twice a year to brush up on my accent, and according to my southern friends, I am successful. I moved to the Atlanta area when you could drive down Peachtree Road on a Sunday and have it almost to yourself, and if you heard a car blow its horn it wasn't because you didn't accelerate fast enough when the light turned green, it was because someone who knew you wanted to say "hey". I have practiced as a Speech Pathologist, oh lets just say for a long time, and have always worked with the five and under crowd. I have been in a variety of settings, but this is my first opportunity to work in a public school setting. I am really pleased to consider Cogburn Woods Elementary my home base, and thanks to all of you who have been so helpful and welcoming!

I have lived in South Carolina for the last 8 years, but have lived many other places including Delaware, New York, and North Carolina. I am a graduate of Clemson University where I received my degree in Special Education. I am very active and enjoy playing volleyball, basketball, and tennis whenever I get a chance.

Virginia Martin - IRR Teacher - MartinV@fulton.k12.ga.us
I have recently moved here from Orlando, with my husband and three elementary school children. Virginia is a graduate of the University of South Florida and earned her Master's at the University of Washington. She has been in education for 20 years, as a Special Education teacher and as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, consulting with teachers. I am so happy to be in Alpharetta. I love my students and my job! I appreciate the warm welcome I have received from staff and families. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new areas, hiking, gardening and playing outside.
Emily Parshall - IRR Teacher - Parshall@fulton.k12.ga.us
My name is Emily Parshall. I am pleased to say I have been brought on as the new InterRelated Resource teacher for Kindergarten thru second grade here at Cogburn Woods Elementary. Although I originally came from Georgia, I spent most of my life up north in Michigan. I graduated from Indiana University and am happy to come back home to Georgia. I am looking forward to learning a lot this year and am having a great time so far with all the wonderful students I have gotten to work with.
Gregary Scott - SNPK Assistant - scottg@fulton.k12.ga.us
I am excited to be changing careers and to be getting my introduction to the teaching world at Cogburn Woods. My wife, 2 year-old son and 1 month old daughter just moved here from Middleboro, Massachusetts, which is about 25 miles south of Boston. I have a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in Organizational Communications and am excited to pursue my master's degree in education while working. I love the energy and enthusiasm that young children have for life and I am looking forward to working with pre-kindergarteners!
