Most people think that a career in Technology means being a computer geek. While that is certainly one of the paths to take, it is not the only one. You don’t even have to BE a computer geek to have a successful career in Technology. “Technology” encompasses more than just knowing about computers. “Information Technology” includes, in part, networking, systems, hardware, security, data management, wireless communication, web development, education and much more. However, there are countless other careers that rely on various technology skills and education. If you are creative and artistic, you could consider a future in software/game development, advertising, film and sound. Graphic Arts and Animation are components of technology education that are useful in these fields. If you have strong math and science skills, more technical fields might be of interest to you. How about getting involved in new “green technologies”...a hot area spurred by environmental concerns. Do submersible robots sound cool? Then maybe a career in Marine Technology is for you. Whatever your talents or interests are, below are some websites to explore what awaits you. |

“I like my job because it involves learning. I like being around smart people who are trying to figure out new things. I like the fact that if people really try they can figure out how to invent things that actually have an impact.
