Technology

Carl A. Golden, Sr.
Technology Specialist

At Love Nolan Elementary one of the ways we are helping our students learn how to be successful in the information age is by encouraging the routine use of technology as a tool for learning. Here are some of the ways we are doing this:

Classrooms   Labs   Specialist     Technology Club

Technology in the Classroom
Each classroom has 3 computers with access to the school network as well as the Internet. Each classroom has a television with access to a school-wide cable network.  Teachers may check out digital cameras to use with classroom activities.

Technology Labs
Nolan students have access to a computer lab of networked multimedia PCs.   Teachers bring their classes to the labs for instruction, to work on projects which are directly connected to the classroom curriculum, to do research, to use educational software, practice keyboarding, and a variety of other skills.  In addition to the computers, our students have access to scanners, digital and video cameras, the Internet, and a selection of curriculum-related software. The Lab assistant assists students and teachers with their technology needs.

Technology Specialist
Our school has a full-time technology specialist .

Technology Club
Third, Fourth and fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate in an after-school Technology club.  The club meets every Wednesday from 3:00 - 4:30.
