Hello!  Welcome to my web page for assignments and info about activities in all my Science classes! This page is updated on Monday afternoons so check often to see about changes!

Unit on Heredity:

11/12: Intro to heredity: worksheets using Genes and DNA book in class - workbook sheet - Mendel and his Peas - (#23 - pgs. 45-46) using textbook - pages 114-119 in text.
    HW: finish textbook worksheet if necessary

11/13: notes and discussion on heredity/discussion of vocabulary terms/go over CW/HW and make corrections
    HW: STUDY vocabulary - you cannot work the genetics problems in this unit if you do not learn these terms immediately!!!   Work sessions any morning I am here - just ask me for a pass the day before and you can come in!  Don't get behind in this unit!

11/14: birthday celebration and grades!  work Punnett squares / genetics problems
    HW: study vocabulary!  We can have a quiz any day!

11/17: 50/50 lab with partner / make foldable #1
    HW: study and practice working problems/finish back of lab, if necessary

11/18: genetics video in class with notes - start HW when finished
    HW: packet #23 - pages 47 & 48 "Traits and Inheritance" - use text pages 120-125 - due Thursday

11/19: Early Release Day!  discuss 50/50 lab/do "Brain Food" activity
    HW: see 11/18

11/20: 2nd page of foldable notes for test / sex-linked traits discussion and work more genetics problems as practice/ck HW
    HW: front of "Genetics since Mendel" worksheet

11/21: ck HW/discuss incomplete dominance and work problems/multiple alleles
    HW: study foldable - test and notebook due Thurs., 12/4

11/24: pedigrees/more problems as review/start pg. 3 of foldable
    HW: vocabulary worksheet - study - test 12/4

11/25: Probability lab with partner / review
    HW: none - eat a LOT of turkey - Happy Thanksgiving!

11/26-11/28 - Thanksgiving Holidays!

12/1: Welcome back!  Review / research on genetic engineering and selective breeding
    HW: Chapter review in pkt. 23 - pages 51-53 (1-15)  Remember: test is Thurs., 12/4 and notebook due that same day!

12/2: notes on selective breeding and genetic engineering/review
    HW: test and notebook due Thursday

12/3: review day!  Check chapter review pkt in class
    HW: test and notebook due tomorrow!

12/4: test on genetics - notebook taken up - must be in order with complete TOC - counts as test grade too - easy way to make 100!!!
    HW: none!
