The 6th grade math curriculum is undergoing a major face lift, and our 6th grade teachers have taken the GPS ball and run!  They have stepped up to the challenge, under the leadership of Mary Cady, and have done a tremendous job unpacking/delivering the standards!  Surely, as the year progresses, you will see some outstanding teaching/learning going on in their classrooms.

The 7th/8th grade teachers continue to work with the QCC's, and have been setting aside some extra lesson plans/activities in anticipation of the new curriculum (7th grade next year, 8th grade the following).  

We have a math manipulative lab that gives our department an opportunity to take our classes out of the traditional classroom setting, and into a place that they may collaboratively work on concepts using hands-on materials.  There is an adjoining computer lab (as well as various ones throughout the building), which we use from time to time to enrich/supplement the lessons taught within the class.  Part of our Strategic Plan is to incorporate these labs at least 8 times per semester.
