Welcome to Ocee Elementary
Ocee Elementary is located in north central Georgia in the city of Johns Creek, about 30 minutes north of Atlanta. Our mascot is the "Otter," and our school colors are blue and yellow. Our principal is Debbie Pernice, and our assistant principal is Shannan LaPorte. Our school hours are from 7:45 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. Ocee Elementary's population is approximately 800 students, kindergarten through 5th grade. We encourage our families to become involved in their child's education. We have a strong sense of family and a very active PTA.
Ocee subscribes to Continuous Achievement, a Fulton County design for curriculum delivery, which accommodates subject content, levels of achievement, and pace. Each child is encouraged to progress at his own rate. Instruction is presented in steps of sequential skills called levels. After a student demonstrates mastery of skills at one level, he advances to the next level. Students may receive instruction below, on, or above grade level. Continuous Achievement respects individual differences and provides guidance to support positive progress for all students. Many of our students also participate in extracurricular activities, such as band, orchestra, and chorus programs.
