Dear Spalding Parents, On behalf of the PTA, we would like to welcome to all the families that are both new and returning to Spalding Drive Charter Elementary School (SDC) this year. We are so happy to have you with us and hope that you will have a great year. The PTA is a very active presence at SDC. In fact, every parent, faculty member, and teacher is required to join PTA as part of our Charter. Each family is required to volunteer at least 10 hours during the school year. There are many opportunities for volunteering: working on a committee, being a room parent, doing other volunteer work for your child’s teacher, participating in the many events that are held during the school year, or just coming to school and eating lunch with your child. Each month during the school year there will be a volunteer day that you can come in and work on an assigned project. The PTA Handbook gives descriptions of the PTA board positions and a list of the various committees. Please read through these and think about what you would enjoy doing. Come to Sneak Peek prepared to sign up! We look forward to working with you again this year.
