Mary Bolar

Assistant Principal

bolar@fultonschools.org

Ms. Mary L. Bolar has been an educator for thirty-two years.  At the age of seven, she knew she wanted to teach.  Her dream was realized when she accepted a position as a seventh grade mathematics with the Henry County Board of Education in Abbeville, Alabama.  She remained with that school system for four years.

Ms. Mary L. Bolar has been employed with the Fulton County Board of Education for twenty-eight years.  She began her career with the system as a mathematics teacher at Russell High School.  After Fulton County consolidated eight high schools into four, Ms. Bolar became a mathematics teacher/department chair at Westlake High School.  While at Westlake, she became the Assistant Principal for Curriculum.  She later served as administrator for the Second Chance Program for middle school students.  Prior to coming to Stonewall Tell Elementary, Ms. Bolar served one year as Interim Principal for Frank McClarin High School .

Ms. Mary L. Bolar holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama A. &. M. University in Huntsville, Alabama; a Masters of Education degree in Mathematics from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia; L-5 Certification in Administration and Supervision from West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia; and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from the State University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia.

Although nothing brings the same joy as being an educator, Ms. Mary L. Bolar enjoys being of service through her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  She currently serves as president of the Tau Epsilon Omega Chapter where she contributes numerous volunteer hours in the areas of economics, education, and health.  Her chapter provides scholarships and service projects within the East Point and College Park communities.  Ms. Bolar believes strongly that we should treat others the way we want to be treated.
