WBMS 8th Grade College Fair
On February 24th, all parents of 8th graders are invited to attend the first
WBMS College Fair with their students. The fair will be held from 8:40 a.m.-11:30 a.m. with sessions including college representatives and admissions information in the gymnasium, HOPE/financial aid advisement in the media center, Q&A sessions with high school seniors on the 800 hall, and GA College 411 website assistance in the computer labs. If you would like to serve as a volunteer on this day, please contact Mrs. Leslie Ambrogio at leslie_ambrogio@yahoo.com. For more information, please contact Stephanie Immel at immel@fultonschools.org or Kathy Westbrooks at Westbrooks@fultonschools.org

MealpayPlus
Beginning January 1, 2010, Fulton County Schools will offer Mealpay Plus, an online prepayment system for student cafeteria accounts. For a small program fee, Mealpay Plus allows any family to make payments using a credit card or debit card, check account balances online, and even auto-pay your student’s account when it reaches a low balance. There is no cost to receive notifications when your student’s account balance is low, view your child’s account balance, or to monitor your child’s purchases. Call 1-866-243-9535 or go to MealpayPlus website to register.

True Blue Schools
Georgia Natural Gas (GNG) has a wonderful donation program called TrueBlue Schools. For every current GNG customer who registers for Webb Bridge Middle School online at www.TrueBlueSchools.com, the school will receive $5.00 for each month you continue to be a GNG customer. If you are not a current GNG customer, switch now, and WBMS will receive a $40 donation and $5.00 for each month you remain an active GNG customer. Please check out www.TrueBlueSchools.com to register for WBMS today or to learn more about the program.

Carpool Safety
Traffic is highly congested in the neighboring area surrounding our school in the morning and after school. In an attempt to ensure the safety of every student and to expedite the arrival and dismissal process, please be sure to load and unload your children only between the yellow lines in front of the school.

Early Dismissal Procedures
If a student needs to leave school before normal dismissal time, a note from the parent or guardian requesting early dismissal must be sent to the office on the morning of the requested early dismissal.  The student will be dismissed from class to come to the office at the time indicated on the note. Parents or guardians must come to the office to sign out their children.  Your cooperation with this procedure is requested as it minimizes interruptions to instruction.  Of course, in an emergency, a parent may come directly to the office to request that a student be dismissed early.

Membership Drive Still in Progress
It’s not too late to join the WBMS PTA.  Your PTA funds a wide variety of programs and events which benefit every student and faculty member at Webb Bridge.  Additionally, directories are available only by purchasing a PTA membership at the bronze ($40) level or above.  Need a form?  Visit the PTA website at www.wbmspta.org, download and print the form and send it in to your child’s homeroom teacher. The PTA appreciates your support!

Free and Reduced Meal Applications—Every Little Bit Helps
Due to the current status of our economy, we want to make all parents aware that free and reduced meal applications are available.  This is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free meals to children each school day.  Applications may be submitted at any time during the school year and are available from the school nutrition manager at all schools in the district.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact the school cafeteria at Webb Bridge Middle School  or visit http://www.fultonschools.org/dept/schoolnutrition/ for more information.

Artists Needed!
Are you a Webb Bridge parent who loves to paint?  Webb Bridge is looking for parent volunteers who would like to finish painting works by the American Grand Masters on the walls in the halls.  If you have the time and the talent, please call the school for more information at 770-667-2940.  Thank you!

Bus Information
The FCSS transportation department is in the process of reviewing the bus schedules for WBMS.  Your child’s pick up or delivery time may change. Please check the Fulton county website (www.fultonschools.org) for details.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Affidavit of Residence required
Starting this school year, parents/guardians of all students must submit a notarized Affidavit of Residence form certifying that the family resides in Fulton County.  This applies to both current and new students and will be required annually

The purpose of the Affidavit is to make sure that only students who reside in Fulton County attend Fulton County schools. Because of Fulton’s reputation as one of the best school systems in Georgia, some families living outside of Fulton attendance zones have found creative ways to enroll their children in Fulton schools. These families take advantage of Fulton’s outstanding programs and services, yet do not pay the taxes used to fund schools. The notarized Affidavit legally verifies that all children reside in their correct school attendance zone, or have an approved transfer.

Click here and you will be redirected to Fulton County Schools' main web page to download the most current affidavit form.

Used Textbook Sale Information Now Available on PTA Website
Do you have used textbooks to sell or need to purchase one?  The PTA provides this service free of charge to all parents who want to take advantage of this exchange.  Visit www.wbmspta.org and click on the link for textbooks.  Follow the instructions for selling a book and peruse the list of available textbooks for sale.  Questions?  Contact Lauri Lusby, PTA Co-President at 678-393-9689 or laurilusby@comcast.net.

Electronic Mall School Fundraiser
The Fulton Education Foundation presents The Electronic Mall.  This website gives individual Fulton County Schools the opportunity to fundraise with minimum effort.  There are over 1200 online merchants, including Wal-Mart, Macy's, and Barnes & Noble available.  To find out how to participate, click here to open the instruction flyer.  Post this flyer on your refrigerator for easy access the next time you start your shopping list.
