Text Box: Dear Wilson Creek Family, Welcome back! It was great to see all the smiling faces on Monday morning and at sneak preview. Thanks to our outstanding PTA for making sneak preview such a great success. Please make sure you join PTA. I know we can have 100% participation! Over the next few weeks we will have our curriculum nights. This will be a great time to meet your child’s teacher, and to go over the curriculum and procedures for the class. This is a very important night for the teachers and the parents, so we ask that students and siblings do not attend. The night begins promptly at 6:30 in your child’s classroom. A short closed circuit television broadcast from me and the PTA will take place during the teacher’s presentation. If you would like to meet with special area and special education teachers, they will be available at 6:00. For those of you who might have two children on the same night, you may go by and meet the second teacher at the end of the evening. The dates and times are as follows: Thursday, August 20, Kindergarten and First Grade Monday, August 31, Second and Third Grade Tuesday, September 1, Fourth and Fifth Grade Agenda: 6:00 Specialists, Special Education Teachers Available: Music – Atrium Art – Art Room PE - Gym ESOL – B217 EIP – B-218 Special Education – Room N206 6:25 Report to homerooms 6:35 Video presentation 6:50 Time with teachers (each grade level has an agenda) 8:00 Evening ends IMPORTANT Beginning in September, the Wildcat News newsletter will only be available through our email system. Copies of this information is available in Spanish, Portuguese, Korean and Vietnamese. These copies can be obtained from the front office.

“Wake Up Wildcats” News Show Looking for Crew Members
Calling all aspiring broadcast journalists!  Look in today’s VIP packet for the sign-up sheet for our morning news show, “Wake Up Wildcats!”  Each week a group of 4th and 5th grade students produce and star in our live daily news show, beamed via closed-circuit television to all Wilson Creek classrooms.  If your student is interested in participating, just complete and sign the permission slip and return it to the media center.  It’s fun and it’s educational, so sign up today!
