Text Box: Dear Wilson Creek Family, We had a very successful opening week and everyone is back into the routine. I look forward to seeing our kindergarten and first grade parents tonight for curriculum night. As a reminder, second and third grade will have their night on August 31 and the night for fourth and fifth grade will be September 1. Attention Fifth Grade Parents We will have our Jekyll Island information meeting at 5:45 p.m. on September 1. We will be finished in time for you to get to the classroom for curriculum night. For planning purposes, the price of the trip this year remains $205 and will take place October 28-30. IMPORTANT Beginning in September, the Wildcat News newsletter will only be available through our email system. Please make sure you have registered to receive emails from the school. Ink Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling Program
Wilson Creek Elementary School will be participating in an inkjet/printer cartridge recycling program with Cartridge World, a school business partner.  Cartridge World is located on the corner of Wilson Road and Medlock Bridge Road in the Ivey Fall retail center.  The school will benefit by Cartridge World donating money for each printer inkjet/printer cartridge returned into our school.  We are also partnering with the Funding Factory in recycling old cell phones.  You may place your inkjet/laser printer cartridges and old cell phones in the yellow recycling bin located in the atrium in front of the cafeteria.  We thank you for participating in these projects which will earn Wilson Creek Elementary money for technology and also help the environment.

Family Photo
A professional photographer will be at the school on September 29 and 30 and at the Tanner Photography Studio on October 4 to take your family’s picture.  Receive an 11x14 family portrait for only $20.00.  Please check your child’s VIP packet today for a flier with more information.  Please return the coupon along with payment to secure your appointment.  If you have any questions please contact Teri Hernandez at 770-813-9678 or email her at tzhern@bellsouth.net.


PTA Executive Board Changes
According to GA PTA Bylaws, we are unable to have an
Assistant Treasurer on our board.  That position has now been removed.  Odette Talbert, who filled that position will be taking over the VP of Student Services, as Brandi Robinson has resigned.  Congratulations Odette!
Donuts for Dads
We are currently looking for a chair or co-chairs for this great event!  If you are interested or have questions, please contact Marcelita Suszek at leopardspot@yahoo.com.
Room Parents (Grades 2 - 5)
There will be a Room Parent Meeting on Friday, August 28 at 8:30 am in the cafeteria.  Please make every effort to attend this meeting so that you will be prepared for Curriculum Nights on August 31 and September 1.  If you have any questions, please contact Tracey Moerschel at joelmoerschel@msn.com.
Wildcat Sharing
The Foster Care Support Foundation, Inc., is an all volunteer community resource dedicated to helping provide free clothing, toys and equipment to foster children in Georgia.  This organization services children from infants to age 18.  They need gently used coats and accessories to distribute this fall for sizes infant to teen.  We will be collecting donations in the atrium outside the cafeteria in boxes from Friday, September 25 through Friday, October 2.  Kids can bring donations with them to school starting September 25 and drop them off on the way to class.  A flyer is enclosed in today’s VIP packet listing items from the wish list.  Any questions, please call Karyn Bruck at 770-813-9794.
