HW: Begin Read “Adultery” in text. We will reread and decipher in class on Wednesday.	1 In class reading of “Adultery” and discussion. You will have some time in class to decipher with a partner or two. We will then discuss as a class. HW: Review for quiz. Make sure your notes are up to date. 2 SNOW DAY: NO SCHOOL	3 Journal Entry Discussion of “Borrowed Time: An Aids Memoir”	4 Conclusion of discussion as needed (periods 1 &2). Distribution of “Serving in Florida” by Ehrenreich. We will read as much of this in class as is possible. The remainder will be HW.	5 Discussion of “Serving in Florida.” Distribution of “Dumpster Diving” by Lars Eighner. Again, we will read as much of this essay in class with the remainder being due for HW.	6 Study Guide distributed. Today you will view 30 Days with Morgan Spurlock. This is a reality program about trying to survive on minimum wage for 30 days in contemporary times. Should be interesting, right!?
9 Discussion of “Dumpster Diving,” Distribution of “On Compassion.” Review for exam. Come to class prepared with questions. I won’t be here tomorrow, so today is your chance!	10 I will be out of the classroom working in TAG today. E-mail me any questions you may have concerning the test. Time given in class for review. You may work in pairs as long as you work Quietly! Be certain to read and annotate “On Compassion” as you will be able to use that text on your test.	11 TEST! 2 Journal #3 Rough Draft of Business Letter due. You will have time to review one another’s business letters and determine how the final draft will be composed.	3 Time given in class to work on Storyboard compilation. Groups should also bring revised drafts of their Screen Plays and Business Letters to make any final revisions.	4 Final Project Due: Film/Storyboard, Business Letter, and Final Draft of Screenplay You will have class time to work on your Crash presentation. A few minutes may be given tomorrow if needed for completion.	5 Time may be given to work on Crash project. Worth a quiz grade. We will begin our Race and Differences Unit.	6 Requested Donations to Purchase The Watchmen due by today. Crash film analysis due today. We will view student films as submitted for recent project.
9 Journal Entry #4 Discussion of Stereotypes.	10 In class reading and discussion of “The Lesson”. We will read “The Moment Before the Gun Went Off” and discuss Wednesday.	11 Discussion of Tues. Reading and in class reading of “A Chinaman’s Chance.” Annotate as you read.	12 In Class reading of “On Being Black and Middle Class.” You will need to annotate and make connections between Liu’s purpose and that of Steele. ¾ Page analysis due tomorrow comparing Liu and Steele’s essays with one another. How are their ideas similar? How different?	13 Discussion concerning readings from Wednesday and Thursday.

23 Journal Entry #6 In class reading of “Silent Dancing.” Be prepared to discuss purpose, interesting lines and of what they are significant, imagery, metaphor, etc.	24 Discussion of “Silent Dancing.” Focus on purpose (consider the conflict), look at literary devices and their significance, note the significance of where video clips are integrated among memories, what are cultural characteristics of Puerto Ricans?
