BETA REQUIREMENTS AND
PROBATION
All Jr. Beta members must meet the
following requirements (be sure to
scroll to the bottom of the page):
- A cumulative GPA of 90.0
- All 1s and 2s in conduct
- A minimum of
10 hours of community
service per semester from at least
2 different and unrelated activities
(meaning - don't earn all your hours in 1 place )
- Attend 6/9 meetings a year
"Service" defined: Work
done as a volunteer in which you receive no pay. Service should benefit
the club, the school, your neighborhood or the larger community.
Examples: Neighborhood service projects, Miracle League, volunteering at
nursing homes, homeless shelters or working at the public library. Not
sure?? Ask Ms. Bolling or Ms. Sosebee
Note:
Babysitting in most cases does not count as service hours. Family chores
and other family obligations do not count as service hours.
If you fail to meet the requirements for
any semester,
- You are placed on probation for 1
semester
- During your 1 semester of probation -
You must meet ALL requirements of a Jr. Beta member
- Failure to meet all requirements during
probation means you are dismissed from the club and will not be able to
rejoin the club
- You may be placed on probation no more
than 1 time. If you fail to meet the requirements AGAIN after being on
probation, you will be dismissed from the club
- Please note:
If you do not turn in a service hour form each semester which documents you have completed
at least some service - you will be dismissed from the club automatically
WITHOUT PROBATION.
