About Me

My name is Cheryl Ducray.  I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I attended Georgia State University where I earned my B.A. in Early Childhood Education.  I began teaching second grade at Dolvin Elementary School in 2004.  My husband, Doug and I live in Alpharetta.  I have two children.  Kelly recently graduated from college and lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Kevin is a senior at Northview High School.  Go Titans!  We also have a yellow lab named Haley.

I believe students, teachers, and parents should work together to create a learning environment that cultivates progress and growth.  I also believe it is important for children to take ownership of their learning goals and to help develop my students into lifelong learners.  Learning is a continuous process, whether it is in or out of the classroom.  We learn from every daily experience.  I also want to encourage my students to be curious of the world around them.

In my spare time, I love to read and spend time outdoors.  I enjoy walking with Haley and spending quiet time in my backyard.  I also love running and watching lacrosse (go Kevin!), hockey (go Penguins), and college football (go Clemson!)  My favorite color is yellow!

I appreciate the team of administrators, teachers, and parents who are a part of the Dolvin community and I am glad to be a part of it!
