Accelerated Reader

   Dolvin's Accelerated Reader (AR) program is designed to promote reading and to strengthen independent reading comprehension.  This program is used as an instructional support.

    On a daily basis, students will be given an opportunity to read AR books and to utilize the AR comprehension tests during D.E.A.R time and center rotation.  Upon passing an AR comprehension test, students will be awarded AR points.  Points will accumulate throughout the school year. 

     It is my goal to encourage each student to read at his/her own level on a daily basis, at school and at home.  When your student reads an AR book at home, complete the "I'm Ready to Take a Quiz Form" as a reminder.   I will also encourage each student to set their own personal AR goal each month.  Accelerated Reader Awards are presented to students who achieve their goal.
