Text Box: The goals of Summit Hill Elementary School’s Library Media Program are founded in the belief that students should be life long learners.  For students to be life long learners, they need the skills to be successful in our society.  A society that is now in the Information Age. This means information literacy skills need to be incorporated into the curriculum for the students to reach the goal of life long learning.  The American Library Association (1989) defined information literate as those people “who can recognize when information is needed and can locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information” (p.1)
We accept the responsibility to teach all students so they can attain their maximum educational potential the Information Age.
