Text Box:  Welcome Back!!! I am totally excited to see many of the familiar faces of the 5th grade returning, and I am eager to get to know all of the new 4th grade students who are joining us in band this year. For the 5th graders, most of you have instruments and books, and we have already begun to play. Keep in mind that you need to review all of last year's music, practice 20 minutes 5 times a week, and remember to turn in your practice logs once a week. 4th graders, many of you have already rented an instrument and purchased your books, great job! If you have not gotten an instrument, don't wait, get one by August 28th.We are going to begin to learn how to assemble the instruments, how to get a sound on the mouthpieces, and how to read music. It is very important that you bring your instrument and book with you for every band class. Practice at least 15 minutes 5 days a week, and start getting in the habit of writing down the times and dates you practice.
