TAG NEWS

Welcome to TAG!   Check out our welcome letter for details about the TAG schedule and what students need to bring in for class.   Thank you so much for all of the wish list supplies that you sent in!  Now our classroom is well stocked!  You are the best!

We are well into our first unit and our students seem to be having a blast!  All of the current units are Advanced Research Units.  The third grade class is learning about endangered animals and what they can do to help preserve their natural environment and protect these animals.  The fourth grade classes as well as the 3rd/4th combination class are learning about our National Parks and the concept of interdependence in the unit Camp Interdependence.  The fifth grade class is learning about how art affects culture and how culture affects art in the unit Museum.  These students will be creating their own masterpieces that show how events since 1975 have impacted their lives.  For more detailed information, please see the "Unit Letters" links below.

If you have not yet done so, please check out the link to the left to Renzulli Learning.  Renzulli Learning is a password protected database of safe websites that provide students with enrichment activities, project ideas, simulations, and information useful for research projects.  Teachers can give assignments to students to enrich their classroom learning and students can search and browse websites that appeal to their learning style and interests.  I have given the students an "assignment" that can further their learning on the subjects that we are covering in TAG.  Students should know their ID and passwords and are able to log on from any computer with an internet connection.  Encourage your child to check it out!  Many of the websites contain educational games and simulations that can productively fill weekend boredom. Enjoy exploring!
