Slinky is an male Okeetee corn snake. He was born on May 19, 2005 and I bought him on July 7, 2005. So he was a baby when I got him. He wasn't used to being held and bit me each time I tried to pick him up. It didn't hurt though because he is so small. He slowly got used to being held and now behaves himself much better. I am now starting to let the students hold him for short amounts of time. He doesn't seem to mind the extra attention.

Facts on Okeetee corn snakes:

Size:     Five to six feet long - Males grow longer and heavier than females. Okeetee corn snakes are the largest of all types of corn snakes. Tank:      Snakes can't sweat - so the tank has to be set up with a warm side and a cool side. The snake can move back and forth as it's temperature changes.
Shedding:     Corn snakes will shed their skin about every five weeks (according to how often it eats and the amount of humidity in the tank). Color:     There are hundreds of different types and colors of corn snakes.
Food:     Corn snakes eat mice. I feed Slinky two pinky mice once a week. (It's not as gross as is sounds... really!) Longevity:     Most corn snakes live an average of 13 years.

There is a lot of information about corn snakes on the internet. Here are some good sites to learn more:
