Cause and Effect: After looking for cause and effect within
several books, students acted out cause and effect relationships. They
worked with partners to brainstorm examples of cause and effect and then
came up with one of their own. After writing a sentence and drawing a
picture, we took digital pictures to show the cause and effect. Click on

| Bee/Ant Comparison:
The non-fiction story, Busy
Buzzy Bee by Karen Wallace, helped us learn all about bees. We also
read the non-fiction story, Ants by Jonathan Zea, earlier in the
year. We thought that ants and bees were alike in many ways but were
also very different. After researching more on the internet with Miss
Wade, we worked in partners to make Venn Diagrams! |

Laptops in the Classroom:
After reading about Brown Bears and Panda Bears, our class collaborated with
Mrs. Harris' 1st grade class using the internet and Kidspiration software to create a Venn Diagram.

2005-2006
All About Animals
Cooperative groups of students researched animal
habitats and then chose one animal to research on the internet. They
used Kid Pix to type two facts about their animal and drew it in its natural habitat. Check it out!
Click Clack Zoo
As part of our letter writing unit, we read the
book, Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type. We loved the book
so much we decided to write a different version of the book. The
students typed letters to the zookeeper on Neos and then illustrated a
picture in KidPix. Take a look at our class book! |
