Miss Wainwright's Turtle Tank

First Grade

Welcome to 1st grade!  I am so excited about this year.  We have lots to learn and I am looking forward to every minute of it.  The kids in my class this year are great.  We have learned a lot and have had a great time doing it.

In case you are not familiar with me, I would love to share a little bit about myself.  I am originally from Upland, California.  I later moved to Alta Loma, California.  From there, I moved to Florida, where I lived in both Clearwater and Sarasota.  My family and I did our last and final move the summer before my senior year of high school to Roswell, GA.   After that, I packed up and moved to Statesboro, GA to start college.  I obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University in May 2001.  I have now been teaching for five years, all of which have been first grade and at Creek View Elementary.

In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking.  I am really into Creative Memories and have made several albums for other people.  I guess you could say it is a little bit of a side business that I really enjoy.  All in all it is a very fun and relaxing hobby.  I also do a classroom scrapbook every year to keep in the class.  If you have not seen some of the classroom scrapbooks I have done, stop by anytime. I would love to share them with you.  Other things that I enjoy are talking on the phone to family and friends, going to the movies, watching T.V. and spending time with my loved ones.  This past summer was a busy one.  I worked as a nanny and tutor for a  couple of families in Windward for most of the summer.  In my off time, I was able to go to Sarasota, FL to see my new niece that was just born July 1st!  It was fun getting to see her and I can't wait to go back again in December.  This summer, I also got to visit Six Flags, Whitewater, Lake Lanier,  and Stone Mountain.  I have season  passes for both Six Flags and Stone Mountain!  I love both of these parks.  They are so much fun!
